Here is my classroom library.  As you can see I LOVE children's books.  I have over 70 different baskets of books.  Every book has a sticker on the back and every basket has a sticker hanging on the front.  The chidlren use the stickers to place their books back into the right baskets when shopping for new books. 

Here is my writing center.  I bought four old desks a few years ago at yard sales which I use in my writing center.  This summer at the last minute I asked my husband to paint them to go along with my bee themed room.  He had a chance to paint 2 of them and they look terrific!!

My kids always think it is so cool to sit at the big desks to write!

I just had the best back to school night.  Now I know why I like my class so much this year!!!

Welcome to Mrs. Hedrich's Hive!!

It has certainly been an interesting start to my school year.  In school for 2 days and out for 8 days because of mold.  I had to set up my classroom twice this year, once before the mold and again after the cleaning.  Crazy!!

Everything is back in order and I had a great first full week with my kids.  I really love my class this year!  I only have 18 students which is really small for us.  We had some children move out of our district this year and they were all on  my list.  My team members all have twenty some students in their classrooms so if any new first graders move in our district this year they will definitely join our class.

Now that life has returned to a normal routine I hope to finally get sometime this weekend to start posting pictures of my classroom!  I am still so excited that I finally have a blog and I'm looking forward to sharing :)

I just watched the CNN interview with Paul Edelman & Deanna Jump from TPT.  I am a big fan of her work and was so excited to hear she reached a million dollars.  Way to go Deanna!!  You have inspired me and many others to follow in your foot steps.  I hope you make another million soon :)
